Chamarajnagar: In a rather shocking case few persons on Friday intercepted a truck ferrying 16 cows, belonging to the Saluru Mutt here when it was being transported to a slaughter house in Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
They later handed over the truck driver, Mahalinga and the truck with the cattle to the police.
It is gathered that the cows had been donated to the Mutt. Notably, the Mutt was in news in December last year when over 13 devotees died after eating poisoned food at the temple.
