Caught on CCTV: Burqa-clad woman steals gold from 2-yr-old at marriage hall

Mangaluru: A burqa-clad woman made off with gold weighing around two and a half sovereigns during a marriage function held at a private hall in Hampankatta here on Wednesday, July 24.
Her act was caught on CCTV camera installed in the hall.
In the footage, that has gone viral on social websites, the woman is seen removing a gold chain and a bangle worn by a two-year-old before walking away from the marriage hall. The value of the stolen gold is estimated at Rs 49000.
A complaint in this regard was lodged at Pandeshwar police station.
The police have collected the footage and investigating the incident.
