CCB arrest three for theft of vehicles; five motorcycles seized

Mangaluru: Three persons have been arrested on charges of vehicle theft by the City Crime Branch (CCB) on Sunday January 13th. The police have also seized 5 motorcycles in their possession.
The arrested are identified as Sayyid Afrid (19) son of Abul Gafoor, Mohammed Safwan (19), son of Hasan Sali and Mohammed Gouse (20), son of Ahmed Shareef, all residents of Kasba Bengre. Of the arrested, Safwan has pending cases at Mangaluru south and Panambur police station in connection to theft and Afrid has murder attempt case pending at Panambur police station.
According to sources, the accused were riding on a motorcycle without a number plate when they were arrested. The police had waylaid the motorcycle and on questioning, confessed of theft. The accused later showed the stolen motorcycles to the police which were seized and are estimated to be worth around Rs 1.58 lakh.
