
CCB police arrest Udupi native for trafficking of girls

Udupi/Bengaluru: The City Crime Branch (CCB) police on November 10 arrested a Udupi native for allegedly keeping in confinement around 15 girls illegally at a house in RR Nagar in the city.
Praveen Shetty, 38, presently residing at 10th Cross, Papareddypalya, Nagarabavi is the arrested person.
Acting on credible information, the CCB police raided the house and rescued 15 girls of North India origin.
According to reports, Praveen had promised good job placement for these girls while bringing them to the city but later forced them to work at bars against their wishes.
A case has been registered at the Jnanabharathi police station in this connection and the police are conducting a probe to find out if other people are involved in this racket.
