CCB police nab drug peddler selling MDMA ahead of New Year celebrations in Ullal

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police apprehended a drug peddler on Saturday, December 30, near Deralakatte ground for selling the banned drug MDMA.
The arrested individual, identified as Muhammad Rameez, also known as Lemain T Rameez (33), resides in Ullal Basti Padpu.
Acting on information indicating the illegal sale of MDMA to college students and the public, the Mangalore CCB police conducted a raid, leading to the arrest of the accused. It was revealed that Rameez intended to procure the drug from Bangalore and distribute it to college students and the public during the upcoming New Year celebrations in the Ullal area.
During the raid, the police seized MDMA with an estimated value of Rs 5 lakhs, weighing 100 grams, along with a digital weight scale and mobile phones. The total value of the confiscated assets is estimated to be Rs 5,11,000.
Further investigation revealed that the accused has a history of criminal activities, with previous cases registered against him, including robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, attempted murder, and robbery at the Konaje police station.
