CCB police raid illegal gambling den; 21 arrested

Mangaluru: Based on a tip-off the City Crime Branch (CCB) police on Monday arrested 21 persons involved in operating an illegal gambling den at Adyar here and seized valuables worth Rs 86,47,700 from their possession. 

Eight cars, one auto-rickshaw and 24 mobile sets and cash Rs 18,37,000 were seized during the raid at the gambling den, operated at a homestay in Adyar Hills.

Melvyn Vishwas D’ Souza, Sharath Kumar, Guruprasad, Raja, Mohammed Hanif, Shivaraj, Anwar, Adarsh, Radhakrishna Nair, Arvin D’ Souza, Mahadevappa, Kumarnath Shetty, Alwyn Richard, Ganesh V S, Preetham alias Prashanth, A B Basheer, Savan, Nithin D’ Souza, Abid Hussain, Denzil Vixon D’ Souza and Mohammed Hanif are the arrested persons. Homestay owner Suresh Shetty has gone absconding.

A case has been registered with Kankanady police.
