CCB police raid residential apartment; bust prostitution racket

Mangaluru: Acting on credible information that a prostitution racket was being run from a residential apartment at Ashok Nagar, within the limits of Urwa police station, the City crime branch (CCB) police on Saturday, March 2 raided the house and arrested two persons involved in the flesh trade 

The arrested have been identified as Arudhathi (40) from Urwa and Ravikumar (41) from Chattisgarh. The police also confiscated three cellphones,  Rs 6,400 in cash and rescued two women who had been forced into the flesh trade. 

It is gathered that Arudhathi was running the brothel along with Ravikumar.

The rescued women were handed over to women and child protection unit while the arrested and seized items were handed over to Urwa police station for further action.

CCB unit police inspector,Shantaram, Urwa police inspector, K M Shariff, and others conducted the raid.
