CCTV camera for Ullal Netravati bridge: MLA Kamath

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of the unfortunate demise of Café Coffee Day founder-chairman V G Siddartha, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath has decided to make Ullal bridge a safer place.
On Friday August 2, the MLA took to Facebook and announced that he was planning to install CCTV cameras on the bridge to make it safer since the bridge has a dangerous place. He also informed that he would be consulting the DC in this connection.
In his post the MLA stated, “The Netravati bridge has become an increasingly dangerous place in the recent past. This leads to unpleasant events, such as suicide, installation of CCTV cameras will be helpul in immediate inspection of accidents in the bridge, Checking CCTV footage will shorten the time to investigate and effort for the district and police department will be comparatively less,”
“CCTV cameras can be helpful to the victim’s households, friends as well as the police officers investigating the cases. It will also be helpful to track down any other offenders. Will update you all once discussion is completed with DC. Thank You (sic).”
