CDA to be made into either board or corporation: New chief

Mangaluru: Mattar Rathnakar Hegde was on Saturday, February 22 appointed as the new chairman of the Coastal Development Authority by MP and State BJP chief Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Hegde after the appointment gave a statement saying that efforts are on to change the Authority into either a government board or corporation deputed with the responsibility of developing infrastructure in the three coastal districts.

He added that works in the Authority’s pipeline will be completed soon and new projects such as setting up of a tourist centre at the Kaup Light House with help from Nirmithi Kendra and PWD is on the heels.

MP Nalin Kumar also suggested that the Authority can also take up tourist promotion works along with entrepreneurship agro-industries development.
