Central govt allocates Rs 42 crore for road development in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru: The Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has released a grant of ₹42 crore for various road development projects in Dakshina Kannada district, said Member of Parliament, Capt. Brijesh Chowta said.

He added that the construction work would commence shortly.

The funds have been provided under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), aiming to develop approximately 74.30 kilometers of roads across the district.

MP Capt. Chowta expressed gratitude to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for their support in sanctioning these projects.

Road Development Projects in Dakshina Kannada:

  • Mangaluru Taluk:
    • Renovation of 5.7 km on Mani-Ullal State Highway: ₹3.42 crore.
    • Renovation of 1 km on Uchila-Deralakatte District Road: ₹60 lakh.
    • Renovation of 1.1 km on Permannur-Pavoor Road: ₹66 lakh.
    • Development of 2.2 km on Kotekar-Pathur Road: ₹1.32 crore.
    • Improvement of 2.25 km on Kadur-Kanhangad State Highway 64: ₹1.35 crore.
  • Bantwal Taluk:
    • Construction of 3.33 km on Surathkal-Kabaka Road: ₹2 crore.
    • Development of 3.2 km on Panemangalore-Pathur Road: ₹1.92 crore.
    • Improvement of 1.22 km on Maripalla-Kalpane Road: ₹73 lakh.
  • Sullia Taluk:
    • Upgradation of 6.2 km on Nintikallu-Bellare-Nettaru Road: ₹3.72 crore.
    • Upgradation of 3.8 km on Sullia-Paicharu-Bellare Road: ₹2.28 crore.
    • Development of 5.2 km on Subrahmanya-Manjeshwar State Highway: ₹3.12 crore.
  • Puttur Taluk:
    • Construction of 4.8 km connecting Nintikallu-Bellare-Nettaru-Amchinadka-Kavu-Ishwaramangala-Pallatharu from State Highway to District Road: ₹2.88 crore.
  • Beltangady Taluk:
    • Construction of 10 km on Guruvayanakere-Uppinangady Road: ₹6 crore.
  • Mangaluru Taluk Additional Projects:
    • Renovation of 11.7 km on Punaruru-Shanthipalki-Damaskatte Road: ₹6 crore.
    • Development of 6.1 km on Batrakere-Kattalsar-Kukkudakatte-Neerkere-Thodaru-Mastikatte District Road: ₹3 crore.
    • Improvement of 6.5 km on Sampige-Ashwathapura-Neerkere-Mijar District Road: ₹3 crore.
