Central govt must pass order to construct Ram Mandir: Pejawar Swami

Udupi: It does not seem like the Supreme Court of India is going to take any decision regarding the Ram Mandir at Ayodhya soon. Therefore, beyond the Court, the central government should either pass an ordinance for the construction of Ram Mandir or have negotiations or a joint parliamentary session, said Pejawar Math Seer Sri Vishveshateertha Shripada, who spoke after honouring Karsevaks at the Nyuyatri Nivas Janagraha meeting office near Udupi’s Sri Krishna temple.

The Court should have decided, it did not. It is not important said the Chief Justice. There are other cases in which many need accused remain to be punished. In such a situation, it is not possible for the Court to wait. Therefore, any of the three afore mentioned democratic ways must be used, he said.

Within a year

To the questions by the reporters that as the election nears there will be discussion on Ram Mandir issue the Seer replied, “It should have been created by nw. We waited. But it has not been created. We are sages. We do not have the occasion of election. We are not insisting for the sake of BJP. Since the last four-an-a-half years, the temple was not constructed. There is majority. Let its benefit be for the nation. The government may come in the future too. But now there is a good opportunity. If it is not done, the people will lose their faith. I have already said at the Dharamsansad that the temple will be constructed this year,” he said.

Let justice be done in good time

“Even now in many cases, the judgement has been passed but the punishment remains to be given. The accused for the murder of 3,000 Sikhs were punished only after several years. The justice should be done in good time. Even in the case of Ram Mandir, the decision should have been taken by now,” he said.

Show boldness

“When there was Vajpayee government, there was no majority. Even so I had told Vjapayee, “Construct Ram Mandir. From that, even if the government falls, it will be convenient.” For that Vajpayee has replied laughingly,” You have said that which I had not realized. You have more concern of ur government than we ourselves.” The present central government has majority. The government will not fall. If in case I collapses, it’s okay. Modi needs to show boldness on the issue of Ram Mandir,” said the seer.

No guts to oppose

“Congress has the fear that if it opposes the construction of Ram Mandir, it will face an adverse effect in the election. Hence including Congress, no other party is expressing opposition to it,” he said.
