Chamarajanagar: A man in Kollegal allegedly reported that he was falsely promised good returns against his investments by four people who cheated him of lakhs of rupees.
The man, identified as Shankar, MD of Pinnacle hospital, Mysuru has registered a complaint against four people including Moosha, Matin of Srirangapattana, Shivu of Tellanur village and Mahesh of Kannur village.
It is said that Shankar was introduced to the accused by his driver Raghu. On December 7, 2021, Shankar went to Srirangapattana to meet Matin and handed Rs 10 lakh cash to him.
Later on December 15, Shankar and his driver were asked to come to Kollegal to pay Rs 25 lakh. Upon reaching there, Matin asked them to pick Shivu and Mahesh and meet him near Bannari temple, Satyamangala road of Tamilnadu.
Matin then asked Shankar to stay there for a day and instructed them to come to Madhuvanahalli the next day. Matin and Moosha reached the spot in two different cars and took Rs 25 lakh cash and Rs 5 lakh cheque from Shankar.
While Matin left, Moosha asked them to come to a nearby deserted area to count the money. On their way, Shankar and Moosha’s car was stopped by a few men wearing police uniforms who began questioning them. Later they asked them to come to the police station and went along with Moosha in his car.
Confused by the situation, Shankar called Matin who threatened to kill him if he informed the police. Shankar then went to the nearby police station and registered a case.
