Chamarajanagar: Man sentenced to life for murdering woman over loan

Chamarajanagar: A man convicted of murdering a woman over a loan issue was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 6,500 by the District and Sessions Court here on Thursday, November 26.
Ananda Kumar from Terakanambi village in Gundlupet taluk is the convicted man.
The murder incident occurred on February 13, 2016.
Kumar had taken a loan of Rs 10,000 from Ramachandra, who also live in the same village.
When he had come to repay the loan, Ratnamma, Ramachadra’s wife, demanded interest amount over the principal brought by him. This led to a quarrel between the two.
On another day, when Ratnamma was walking by a temple in the village, Kumar approached her on his cycle and attacked her with a long knife.
Ratnamma was immediately rushed to Mysuru’s KR Hospital where she died.
