Chanakya career academy: Empowering youth aspirations for government jobs

Chanakya Career Academy has become a beacon for youth in Karnataka aspiring for government jobs. Founded by Ninganagouda M. Biradar, the academy has trained thousands of students, helping them secure positions across various sectors. Known as the “Chanakya of Bisi Nadu,” Biradar’s institute has reached its 25th anniversary, evolving into a trusted hub for competitive exam preparation.
Biradar, hailing from a small farming village called Tilgul in Vijayapura district, was driven by his parents’ encouragement to pursue a strong education. After securing a government position himself, he left to fulfill a new vision: preparing students for competitive exams. Chanakya Career Academy began in Sindagi with only eight students and eventually moved to Vijayapura, growing rapidly and now training 10,000 students annually.
Serving over 200,000 students
Having faced challenges of his own, Biradar set out to provide quality training for youth from marginalized and rural backgrounds. Over the past two decades, his academy has become a primary choice for competitive exam coaching. Initially modest, the academy has now trained over 200,000 young men and women, many of whom have found successful careers in government sectors such as police, education, revenue, banking, and rural administration.
Inspiring instruction and psychological support
Biradar’s approach combines academic and psychological insights to build student confidence, offering separate sessions to address students’ anxieties, doubts, and fears. His team of experts also provides guidance, often inviting successful alumni and distinguished state personalities, including Gururaj Karjagi, Gururaj Bulbule, Captain Anand, and Nagatihalli Jayaprakash, to share their wisdom and motivate students. Through these interactions, students gain insight, encouragement, and a positive learning environment.
Free coaching for veterans
As a tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of Kargil war veterans, the academy offers free coaching to ex-servicemen, with over 200 veterans trained each year. Additionally, free coaching is extended to differently-abled individuals, widows, Devadasi children, orphans, and female police batch students, empowering them to achieve their career aspirations.
Chanakya publications
Beyond coaching, Biradar has expanded his efforts to support students through “Spardha Chanakya,” a popular monthly magazine for competitive exam preparation, and “Job News,” a biweekly publication that provides comprehensive job information. His efforts to make coaching accessible extend to literature, with over 60 books published under Chanakya Publications, including best-sellers like Chanakya Kanaja and Deepada Daari.
Awards and recognition
Biradar’s work has earned him several prestigious awards, including the Basava Bhushan from the Basava Samiti in Bengaluru, Siddeshwara Ratna from the Shri Siddeshwara Institution in Vijayapura, and the Vijayapura District Rajyotsava Award. Inspired by the teachings of Shri Siddeshwara Swamiji of Vijayapura Jnanayogashrama, Biradar incorporates his principles into both his life and teaching methods, encouraging his students with similar ideals.
Chanakya Career Academy’s growth has also stimulated local business in Vijayapura, supporting hotels, stationery shops, book vendors, and xerox centers, contributing to the district’s economic development.
Courses offered
Chanakya Career Academy provides coaching for exams like KAS, PSI, PDO, TET+CET, FDA, SDA, Banking, Police, and more. Online classes for TET-CET-HSTR exams are also available, ensuring access to training for aspirants across the state.
