Channagiri Taluk office head nabbed by Lokayukta for alleged bribery

In a significant anti-corruption operation, the head of the branch at Channagiri Taluk Office Sudhir, was apprehended by the Lokayukta police on Friday.
The arrest stemmed from allegations that Sudhir was involved in accepting a bribe of ₹5,000 to facilitate the correction of land records.
The Lokayukta police had received a complaint from Lohit Kumar of Haliwan village in Harihar taluk, who had sought corrections to the land records. Sudhir, holding a key position in the Channagiri Taluk Office, allegedly demanded the bribe from Kumar.
Acting on the complaint, the Lokayukta Superintendent of Police M.S. Kaulapure, conducted a well-coordinated operation.
Sudhir was arrested red-handed on Friday while accepting the bribe of ₹5,000 at the Taluk office.
