Channapatna bypoll: C.P. Yogeshwar to break alliance?

Channapatna: With the announcement of the Channapatna by-election date, political activities have intensified in Congress, BJP, and JD(S). Despite ongoing negotiations between JD(S) and BJP over ticket distribution, Legislative Council member C.P. Yogeshwar, a strong contender for the alliance ticket, has called for a meeting with BJP leaders and workers at a private resort today.
Yogeshwar’s decision to call this meeting despite discussions with BJP’s central leadership indicates a potential rebellion. Yogeshwar, who was confident of securing the alliance ticket, has reportedly become dissatisfied with recent political developments, sparking speculation about his next move.
Though BJP state leaders have recommended Yogeshwar for the by-election ticket, former CM Kumaraswamy has strongly opposed this. The JD(S) believes that giving up the seat to BJP could weaken its organization in the district. Amid these tensions, Yogeshwar’s meeting has gained considerable significance.
