Channapatna: In connection with the underage marriage, Women and Child Development Department officials have registered a case against four persons including the mother of the girl, the groom, and the parents of the groom at Akkur police station of the taluk.

A case has been registered against Venkatesh, Dasegowda, Venkatalakshmamma, and Savitha.

On May 15, Venkatesh reportedly married a 16-year-old girl at the Gaddemahadeswara temple in Huchchaiyanadoddy village of the taluk. The district child helpline got the information about underage marriage being held.
