Bengaluru: A day after the chaos at Bengaluru railway station as few passengers of Delhi-Bengaluru train refused to go into quarantine, the south west railways has begun sending SMS to the passengers regarding the 14-day mandatory institutional quarantine.
Apart from sending SMS to the registered mobile numbers, the South Western Railway also distributed pamphlets, printed in Kannada and English to all the passengers who are booked on the Bengaluru-bound train from New Delhi (Train No 04038).
The pamphlets said that as per protocol, all interstate travellers to Karnataka will be compulsorily placed in institutional quarantine for 14-days. The passengers can choose to stay in government approved quarantine centres free-of-cost or in specified hotels at their own expense.
On Thursday, few passenger who arrived on the very first passenger train from Delhi to Bengaluru since the beginning of the nationwide lockdown refused to go into quarantine saying that they had not been informed about it beforehand. These passengers who chose to travel back to Delhi at their own cost were sent in the Rajdhani Express last evening. An additional bogey was attached to the train to accommodate the passengers
