Yelandhur: The door of a KSRTC bus broke off at one of the bus stands here on Saturday, reportedly due to the rush of devotees and tourists to the Biligiriranga hill for the special Ekadashi celebrations.

Locals said that there has been higher footfall after the implementation of the Shakti Yojana in the state. The bus door broke as more people attempted to board the already jam-packed bus as there were not enough buses plying on the route.

The hill of Biligiriranga holds immense significance during this week, attracting thousands of people from different districts, including Mysuru, Bengaluru, and Mandya.

Expressing their concern over the inadequate transportation facilities, devotees Manu and Mallu pointed out that the KSRTC must take immediate action to address the issue. They emphasized the need for additional buses on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, to cater to the growing number of devotees and tourists who wish to visit the hill.
