Udupi: A person has filed a complaint with the cyber crime police station here on Wednesday June 19 alleging that someone has created a fake Facebook account in his name with the sole intention of defaming him and sully his image.
In this complaint, Prakash Shetty from Kota, who is a popular comic theatre artiste who is adept at using colloquial “Kundagannada’ for entertaining the audiences and a driver by profession states that a fake Facebook account has been created in his name by someone through which obscene messages have been posted.
He further claims that the unknown persons created his Facebook ID by even using his cell phone number and sent friend request. Anyone who accepts the friend request used to get ugly content. Oblivious of this fact Mr Shetty realized his name was getting misused only after he was informed of the issue by an acquaintance. He maintains that the account has been created solely to sully his image.
Meanwhile, local vehicle drivers have urged the police to find the culprits behind this mischief and arrest them failing which, they have warned of organizing protests.
