Belthangady: after a lorry toppled in the middle of the road on tenth curve of Charmadi Ghat, hundreds of vehicles are stranded on a stretch of about 5 kilometres on the Ghat on Saturday, August 18th.
It is reported that a few of the vehicles are moving towards Kottigehara, but the vehicles heading towards Mangaluru and Dharmasthala remain stuck.
The traffic density along Charmadi Ghat has increased considerably with the closure of Shiradi and Sampaje Ghat as a result of landslides and inundation due to torrential rains since a few days.
