Charmadi Ghat repair work affected by rains

Mangaluru: The repair works on Charmadi Ghat stretch of the National Highways will be undertaken by authorities after the rain stops, informed Mudigere Tahsildar Ramesh.

The repair works have been necessitated following caving in of the road, at several locations on the Charmadi Ghat stretch due to the incessant rainfall in the area. The stretch is presently open for vehicular movement of only light vehicles that too during day time.

Speaking after visiting the Charmadi Ghat stretch on Saturday, the Tahsildar said that the rain is posing hindrance to the repair works.

Further he said tourists clicking selfie near the waterfalls in the Charmadi Ghat has been brought to the notice of the authorities. The beat police should ban clicking of selfies on the stretch.
