Belthangady: Charmadi Ghat road, has been facing a temporary ban on vehicular movement due to landslides which had occurred at some of its hairpin bends and Chikkamagaluru Dc has passed an order asking the debris to be cleared for the resumption of vehicular movement.

Presently, light motor vehicles including cars, jeeps and bike have been permitted to ply through the ghat route during the day time from 7 am in the morning to 6 pm in the evening. The road has been reopened after considering any hindrances along the route and hence, vehicular movement is permitted only during the day as a precautionary measure.
