Brahmavar: A fire-gutted car was found with two charred bodies inside at the Kothur in Heggunje gram panchayat limits.

The burning car was noticed at around 3.30 am on Sunday. As per media reports, the deceased are Bengaluru RT Nagar residents, Yashwanth and Jyothi. Reportedly, the duo has been missing for the past 3 days and a case has been registered in Bengaluru.

It is learnt that the young man and woman had rented the car in Mangaluru on Saturday and had visited various places in Udupi.

Yashwanth and Jyothi got married against the will of their family members. It is now being said that the young couple committed suicide after sending a message to Yashwanth’s brother stating that they are not able to live without their family members.

They allegedly poured petrol all over their vehicle, set it ablaze and then locked themselves inside the car.

Meanwhile, Brahmavara police have registered a case and taken up the investigation.
