New Delhi: The Centre on Friday announced relaxation in the third phase of its lockdown which comes into force from May 4.

As per the guidelines released by the centre, standalone liquor, paan shops will be allowed to open in all the zones, including the red zones with certain riders.

The guidelines states that stores must ensure minimum six-feet social distancing; not over 5 persons at one time at shop. Also consumption of liquor, paan, gutka, tobacco etc., is not allowed in public places during lockdown.

It must be noted that liquor shops located in shopping malls, market complexes and in containment zones will remain shut during the extended lockdown.

However, it is for the states to decide whether they want to open liquor stores or not.
