Bengaluru: As many as 28, 000 chemists and druggists spread across Karnataka state will join their hands with All India Organisation of Chemists and Druggists for a nation wide strike on May 30, 2017. All medical stores in the state will remain closed for 24 hours to register their protest against online sale of medicine and drugs in the country.

Bruhat Bengaluru Chemists and Druggist Association sources said that, online companies selling their products below open market retail price and this has been adversely impacting their business for the last two to three years. If online medicine business is not stopped or regulated properly then it could destroy the livelihood of the chemists, druggists and other staff  in India.

The association members also alleged that, there is a conspiracy is working behind the scene to destroy open market retail drug business in the country. If online drug business grows without any control, then it could destroy the livelihood of  8.5 lakh chemists and druggists in India, the association said.
