Cherkady theft: Police solve the case, arrest accused within 24 hours

Brahmavara: Police solved the theft incident at Kannar in Cherkady village and arrested a suspect within 24 hours of the crime.
The accused is identified as Suresh alias Surya alias Kapi, a resident of Pajamangoor. He was currently employed in Bengaluru, police said.
The theft happened at the house of Prema in Kannar. When Prema was busy washing utensils in front of her house, Suresh allegedly entered the house after breaking the back door. He fled with a 10-gram gold necklace.
Prema had lodged a complaint at eh Brahmavara Police Station regarding the theft.
Police who took up the case formed a special team to nab the culprit. They succeeded in tracing the suspect using the good old police work. In the absence of any technological evidence, the team collected information from the public and traced Suresh’s whereabouts.
The stolen necklace was also recovered from Suresh’s possession, police added.
Police said that the accused was also involved in theft cases at the Karkala Rural police station. He had been lodged in the juvenile remand home for children in conflict with the law, police added.
