Cherkala: Two die after a jeep topples

Kasaragod: Two persons including a woman lost their lives and 7 others suffered injuries after the jeep they were travelling in lost control and topple at Karichheri at 8 pm Thursday night. Of the injured, two are in a critical condition and have been shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru.
The jeep toppled at Karichheri turn in Kattaanchal and late Kunninbu Nair’s wife Sharada (68) and son Sudheer (48) lost their lives. Suheer’s son Niranjan (7) and a relative Suresh, who were critically injured have been shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. The jeep driver Ranjit (28), Chandrika (33), Shivaraj (15), Vismaya (3) and Sunita suffered minor injuries and have been admitted to E K Nayanar cooperative hospital at Chengala.
Even though the locals rushed in to rescue the occupants of the mangled vehicle and shift them to the hospital, two lives were nonetheless lost. The tragedy occurred when the occupants were returning back to their home after attending a wedding function at Poyinachi Paramb. The jeep has suffered total damage.
