Chief Secretary of K’taka TM Vijay Bhaskar visits Pachanady dumping yard

Mangaluru: Chief Secretary of Karnataka Vijay Bhaskar T M, MLA Bharath Shetty, MLA Vedavyas Kamath on Wednesday, January 29 visited Pachanady dumping yard and analysed incidents of garbage sliding.

As per sources, Vijay Bhaskar T M visited the spot to analyse the area as the state government is likely to start scientific waste treatment here.

Deputy Commissioner Sindhu Rupesh, Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation Shanadi Ajith Kumar Hegde, Local leaders Sandeep Pachanady, Ravindra Kudupu, Sujan Das and others were also present.

It may be recalled that due to sliding down of a large amount of waste from Pachanady landfill, nearly 25 houses in the region, and large tracts of arecanut and coconut farms were destroyed completely.

The garbage had slid down up to a distance of two kilometres radius, damaging houses as well as arecanut and coconut trees.
