Kalaburagi: Chief Secretary of Karnataka, P Ravikumar informed that the Covid-triggered ban on protests and rallies in the state will not apply to poll-related political activities in Basavakalyan and Maski Assembly constituencies and Belagavi Lok Sabha segment.
His clarification came a day after Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa said that the government has decided to ban all kinds of protests in the state for 15 days from March 30.
Asking people to cooperate by wearing face masks and maintaining social distancing, he said officials have been instructed to take strict measures against those not wearing masks.
