Chikkaballapur: Five people have been killed and one injured after gelatin sticks exploded at Hirenagavalli village in the district here.
This comes a month after a huge explosion of gelatin sticks rocked Shivamogga.
The five deceased in the explosion have been identified as crusher engineer Umakant, computer operator R Gangadhar, weigher Murula, watchmen Mahesh and a local Ramu.
District in-charge minister Dr K Sudhakar has reached the site and is obtaining information from the authorities.
The explosion occurred within Peresandra police station limits.
