Chikkaballapur: Elderly couple found murdered in Sidlaghatta; Robbery suspected

Chikkaballapur: An elderly couple was found murdered inside their house in Sidlaghatta, Chikkaballapur district on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Srinivas alias Donthi Seenappa (76), and his wife Padmavathi (67). The couple had two married daughters who were living with their families in Bengaluru.
The police said that the murder came to light on Thursday morning when the maid visited the house. The door was locked from inside, she entered the house through the backdoor and found the bodies lying on the floor.
It is suspected that the couple was murdered by thieves who entered the house through the Gawakshi (glass roof tiles) and made away with gold and other valuables from the house.
The accused used sharp objects to kill the husband while the wife’s head was smashed against a door by the accused.
Police officials visited the spot and conducted an inspection. Further investigations are underway.
