Chikkaballapur: Two students drown while swimming in lake

Chikkaballapur: An incident of two young boys drowning in a lake where they had gone for a swim has been reported from Sidlaghatta taluk in the district here on November 10.

Dibburahalli village’s Darshan Murthy (15) and Kachahalli village’s Shivraj Manjunath (14) are the deceased teenagers.

Shivraj had come to his aunt’s house from Kachahalli village. On Tuesday, he and his aunt’s son Darshan took their goats to graze at the forest near Bacchanahalli. While there both decided to take a dip at the lake behind a residential school and drowned a while after entering the lake.

Dibburahalli gram panchayat PDO Gausapir, Sub Inspector Narayanappa and staff of Dibburahalli Police Station visited the scene and made arrangements to take the dead bodies to Sidlaghatta public hospital for postmortem examination.
