Chikkaballapur: Woman crushed to death after drunk husband pushes her in front of oncoming truck

A woman died on the spot after her husband reportedly pushed her in front of an oncoming truck in Chintamani here.

The deceased has been identified as Sumera Sulthana and the accused is Munikrishnappa. The incident took place on Saturday morning when the couple were returning home from Murugamalla.

Reportedly the couple were having an argument over Munikrishnappa’s alcohol addiction. The argument escalated and an enraged Munikrishnappa pushed Sumera before an oncoming truck. The truck driver tried to swerve his vehicle to avoid running over Sumera but she came under the truck wheels and died on the spot.

Police said that Munikrishnappa had consumed alcohol the previous evening and was intoxicated when the incident took place.
