Chikkaballapura: The police here arrested a head constable working in the District Crime Bureau who was allegedly running an IPL betting ring.
The matter came to light another betting ringleader arrested by the police dared them to arrest one of their own who is running a bigger betting ring than him.
Chikkaballapura District Superintendent of Police GK Mithun Kumar said that the constable was suspended in the past week after being under surveillance for some time.
It was reported that the constable learnt about IPL betting from bettors who were arrested by his unit and then started his own ring from the knowledge gained.
