In a festive start to the three-day Datta Jayanti celebrations organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, a vibrant Sankirtana Yatra unfolded in the district. The festivities commenced at the Bolarameswara temple, where women gathered from across the district for a grand procession that captivated the city’s streets.

The procession, led by participants from the Bolarameswara Temple to the Polytechnic College circle, featured women carrying Bhagadhwaja and a picture of the revered god Dattatreya adorned in a shawl. Enthusiastically chanting Dattatreya bhajans, kirtans, and the sacred name of Dattatreya Swami, the women expressed their devotion throughout the colorful march.

Former MLA CT Ravi, Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje, and many others joined the procession, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.

In ensuring the safety of the event, the police department maintained strict vigilance across the district, deploying a significant number of personnel in sensitive and highly sensitive areas. As part of the security measures, 28 check posts were established, checking every vehicle passing through. The routes to Dattapeeth were also strategically planned with police presence, ensuring the smooth progress of the celebrations.
