Three individuals, including a nurse and a shop owner, were arrested in Kadur under POCSO charges for allegedly sexually abusing minor girls of the Kuppalu Murarji Residential School.
The arrested individuals are Chandana (26), an ANM nurse, Suresh (35), and Vinay Kumar (27), a store owner.
The arrest was made based on a complaint filed by the school principal, leading to an operation initiated by the team of Tarikere DySP Halamurthy Rao. The accused nurse, Chandana, who is pregnant, was in a relationship with Vinay Kumar, and both confessed to sexually exploiting female students with the help of Suresh, a temporary worker at the school.
Suresh would deceive parents by claiming the girls were undergoing nurse training, and then, along with Vinay Kumar, would take them to Chandana’s government quarters. There, they would provide the girls with drinks and drugs, sexually abusing them when they became unconscious. The police investigation revealed that the victims had been sexually assaulted and raped.
Chandana was taken into custody, and Vinay Kumar and Suresh were arrested based on her information. All three are currently in judicial custody at Chikkamagaluru jail. The police have registered a case under POCSO and rape charges against them.
