Chikkamagaluru: 3 tourists feared drowned as coracle capsizes in Bhadra River backwaters

In a tragic incident on Wednesday, three tourists are feared drowned when a coracle capsized in the backwaters of the Bhadra River at Byrapura village in NR Pura taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.

The missing have been identified as Adil, Sajid, and Afdakhan, residents of Vidyanagar in Shivamogga district.

The incident occurred while the trio was travelling in a coracle in the backwaters of the Bhadra River at Byrapura village. Wildlife, police, and forest department officials have arrived at the scene and are conducting search operations.

The incident falls under the jurisdiction of NR Pura police station.
