Chikkamagaluru: 47-year-old killed in alleged gun misfire while cleaning

Chikkamagaluru: A man died on August 27 allegedly due to a gun misfire while cleaning it at his home in Kalavase village, Chikkamagaluru taluk.

The deceased has been identified as Arun (47), a resident of Kalavase village.

The incident occurred when no one else was at home, and it remains unclear whether it was a case of suicide or an accidental misfire.

It is suspected that Arun was cleaning the gun in a shed at his home when it suddenly discharged, causing a bullet to strike his right eye. The impact led to severe injuries, resulting in his immediate death.

The body has been sent to a hospital in Hassan for examination. A case has been registered at the Mallandur Police Station, and investigations are ongoing.
