Chikkamagaluru: Female labourer trampled by elephant

Chikkamagaluru: A female laborer was trampled to death by a wild elephant near Aldur of Hedalu village.

The deceased woman has been identified as Veena (45).

The incident took place in the Aldur forest zone when a group of seven wild elephants confronted Veena, while she was on the way to work.
Tragically, Veena sustained severe injuries and tragically lost her life.

This tragic occurrence marks the second such incident in the last two months, highlighting the escalating issues arising from the overgrowth of forests in Chikmagalur district.

The local community has expressed its growing frustration and anger towards the forest department in response to these incidents.

Officials from the Aldur Forest Department have been dispatched to the area to conduct an investigation and assess the situation.
