Chikkamagaluru: An incident where a medical shop sold 9-year-old glucose packets to a customer within the government hospital premises here was reported on Monday.
Guru, the customer, bought a packet of glucose at the generic medical shop at the hospital. After being shocked at seeing the 9-year-old packet, he bought another one which too was of the same age.
The medical shop operator had stuck a label over the pack where the manufacturing date (April 2012) was mentioned to hide its expiration and was selling the Rs 26 packet at Rs 13.
Glucose powders usually last for 24 months.
