Chikkamagaluru: In a tragic incident, a newlywed woman ended her life by hanging herself at her home in Gulladamane village, Tarikere taluk, unable to bear severe abdominal pain.

The deceased, identified as Bindu (21), had been married just a month ago.

Bindu, a resident of Gulladamane, had married Prasanna Kumar of Mantenahalli in Hosadurga taluk, Chitradurga district, on November 24. The couple had been married for only one month and three days. Three days ago, Bindu had returned to her parental home with her husband. During their stay, the couple had visited several temples and participated in a puja at the family home.

On Saturday, Bindu reportedly took the extreme step of ending her life due to unbearable abdominal pain. She had been suffering from abdominal issues for the past three to four years, and her family had sought medical treatment, but her condition had not improved.

Preliminary reports suggest that the worsening pain may have driven her to take this step. Tarikere Tehsildar visited the spot and conducted an inquiry. A case has been registered at Lingadahalli Police Station, and further investigation is underway.

The incident has left both families in deep shock and grief, highlighting the importance of addressing chronic health issues and providing emotional support.
