Chikkamagaluru: Over 30 students injured in road mishap

A private bus attempting to overtake another vehicle crashed into a bridge, narrowly avoiding a major accident near Bavikere village in Tarikere taluk on Wednesday, September 25.

Over 30 students, onboard the bus sustained minor injuries in the accident which is said to have been caused due to the driver’s negligence and overspeeding. The injured students were taken to the Tarikere Government Hospital for treatment.

The private bus, traveling from Bhadravathi to Tarikere, met with an accident near a narrow bridge while trying to overtake another bus. Local residents expressed their anger towards the private bus driver for the reckless driving.

A case has been registered at the Lakkavalli police station.
