Chikkamagaluru: Police nab inter-state thief; valuables worth Rs 52.68 lakhs recovered

Chikkamagaluru: Police of the crime branch here nabbed a notorious thief wanted in crimes committed in several states and recovered valuables worth around Rs 52.68 lakh.

Rangegowda alias Santhsosh of Mudigere in Hassan was arrested for thefts, police said.

He is wanted in 4 cases in Chikkamagaluru City, 2 cases each in Mysuru and Mandya, one case each in Chikkamagaluru Rural, Kadur, and Hassan, police added.

The police said they have recovered Rs 6,000 cash, 899 gram gold worth Rs 44.68 lakh, 166 grams of silver ornaments worth Rs 1.2 lakhs and a two-wheeler from his possession.
