Chikkamagaluru: Devotees of Lord Datta gathered at Dattapaduks to celebrate Datta Jayanti, organized by the District Administration, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, and Bhajrang dal.

Since Tuesday morning, followers from various parts of the state, including the district, formed queues in the iron gallery to catch a glimpse of Datta Paduke and took part in homa havans.

Hundreds of devotees, arriving in vehicles, also stopped to bathe in Honnamma’s well on the route to Dattapeeth.

Simultaneously, the atmosphere resonated with chants, kirtan, and bhajan as devotees expressed their devotion to Lord Datta. Former MLA CT Ravi also had the divine darshan of Dattapadu during the auspicious occasion.

In view of Datta Jayanti, police security was heightened, and thorough checks were conducted on every vehicle heading towards Dattapeeth.
