Chikkamagaluru: Twist in missing child case

A young girl who had gone missing, on Thursday, while accompanying her father to a coconut oil mill was safely reunited with her parents today (Oct 25).
Prakash and Mary from Bettada Tavarekere brought the child, reported as missing at Tarikere Police station and handed her to the police on October 25.
On Thursday, Raghu Nayak visited a coconut oil mill near the KSRTC bus stand in Kadur town with his daughter, Manasa. He had momentarily left her near his bike and went to process the oil. When he returned later his child was missing. Upon checking the CCTV footage of a nearby shop it was found that a woman took the child away and Raghu filed a missing person report at the Kadur Police Station.
Incident details
Raghu who had arrived at the oil mill with Manasa had gone inside the shop while asking his daughter to wait near the bike. However later he went to a nearby liquor establishment, forgetting to bring his daughter along.
Meanwhile, a couple hailing from Tarikere Taluk, noticed the child crying. They comforted her and waited for over half an hour, hoping her parents would return. When no one came, they decided to take her home to their village for her safety.
After news of the missing child circulated on social media and other media channels, nearby villagers informed the family. Eventually, Prakash and Mary, brought the child to the Tarikere Police Station, and she was reunited with her family.
