Chikkamagaluru: Youth tied to tree, assaulted over Rs 5,000 loan

In an inhumane incident, a gang of five persons allegedly assaulted a youth over repayment of Rs 5,000 loan at Karkeshwara village in Koppa taluk here.

The victim Satish had availled a loan of Rs 5000 from a youth. As he had not repaid the loan, the accused along with his accomplices allegedly tied him to a tree at a plantation here and assaulted him.

Satish sustained injuries on hus body and is undergoing treatment at the Koppa Government Hospital.

It is gathered that the accused were in an inebriated condition and even recorded the assault. A video of the same is going viral on social media.

A case has been registered against Mahesh, Vittal, Cyril, Manju, Sunil in this connection.
