Chikmagalur: Elephant dies after coming in contact with electric fence

Chikmagalur: An elephant died by electrocution in the Kadur forest here on the night of Thursday, July 30.
The incident took place near Ammedoddi in Kadur taluk. It is being reported that the three-year-old elephant died while going towards the lake.
Huliappa, the owner of the property who had set up the electric fence that caused this incident, has gone into hiding.
Last year too a male elephant had died in the forest due to electrocution.
Forest department officials have visited the site for inspection.
