Chikmagalur: Sringeri Constituency MLA Rajegowda apprehended a school principal who had arrived intoxicated to discuss concerns regarding a residential school.
Reportedly, Lokanayak, the principal of Kittur Rani Chennamma Residential School in Simsa village, sought an audience with MLA Rajegowda to address issues related to the institution.
During the meeting the principal’s inebriated state did not go unnoticed. The MLA promptly summoned the police, who subsequently escorted Rajegowda to the government hospital for a medical examination.
The residential school, which caters to the educational needs of 300 girls from the 6th to 10th standard, entrusted Lokanayak with the roles of both warden and principal.
Concerns have arisen among the MLA regarding the potential impact of such behavior on the welfare of the students. As a result, they have instructed the authorities of the social welfare department to immediately suspend the principal from his position pending further investigation.
