Bengaluru: A child had a lucky escape while he was sitting on a moving bike alone after the father and mother were knocked down off the two-wheeler when their vehicle hit another bike on the busy Tumakuru-Bengaluru NH-4 expressway on Sunday.

A video footage of the incident was captured by a camera mounted inside a car that was moving in the same direction captured the entire accident, the police said.

The video went viral on social media.

The footage showed the woman pillion rider being flung in the air and falling on the road rolling, and subsequently the rider falling down. However, the bike kept moving, with the toddler holding the bike’s handlebar. The bike kept moving for around 200 to 300 metres amid the moving traffic which included a truck, and then hit the median, following which the child fell on to the grass over the divider unhurt.

By then, passersby rushed towards the child. The rider and his wife were administered first-aid at the Nelamangala government hospital.
